I wasn't left with any questions or felt like I missed out on something. The whole story was to the point and wrapped up nicely. Marianne's attack brought out a lot of information that Rose didn't know about, but good it was finally out there. I loved that he wasn't swayed by Marianne and set out to remove her from his home and life. You could tell it was out of character for Hamish but he was so sweet to try to do everything right and proper. The courtship between Hamish and Rose was so sweet. She yearned to experience life but never wanted to cause her Aunt a second of stress as she knew how lucky she was to have been taken in and raised so lovingly. She never socialized or was allowed to do the normal things young women her age did. Rose was raised by her aunt and the 2 servants that worked for her aunt pretty much in seclusion. When he stumbled upon Rose asleep on his property he immediately felt things he's never felt before and knew that he was willing to do whatever it took to make her his. To say he didn't fit in is an understatement and trying to fit in couldn't be further from his personality. But, with the death of his uncle it was now his life. Hamish went from the battlefield to a laird - something he never wanted or thought he would have. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say it's fully fleshed out, but it's a short story by design and really couldn't be anymore detailed with the length. The romance was sweet and the story was surprisingly not lacking in information and depth.
